At our recent BBQ in Gan Sacher, someone came up to me and asked, “What is Shalvat Adam? What are the goals of this group? events?”
I responded to the young woman, “Great question!”
I said to myself, I have not done a good enough job clarifying these questions to our own participants and certainly not to the public at large.
We began to speak, but before I was able to respond properly and fully, the conversation ended.
What is Shalvat Adam?
Shalvat Adam is a community that aims to create engaging events for religiously likeminded young Olim, singles and young married couples, who are both grounded (in Torah learning and in life) and spiritual (into Chassidut/deep thinkers). We create a space where our members and group can learn and discuss topics that mix these aspects together – Torah-centered discussion events.
We host Shiurim, Kumzitzim, Shabbatonim and other events in Jerusalem and in Yishuv Adam. Each event is focused around learning and discussing deep topics within Torah, to deepen our connection with Torah, each-other and strengthen our community. Rabbi Shalom Miller and Avigail Tresgallo formed Shalvat Adam in June of 2021.
Goals of Shalvat Adam:
- To build and develop the Shalvat Adam community of Olim. The feeling of being connected and the community experience is central to our existance.
- To strengthen our community’s connection to Torah in the way of Chassidut.
- To build a network of friendships and a support system for individual community members. One of our main goals is to help our singles find their bashert.
- To run Torah classes and discussions in the way of Chassidut for both members and non-members.
- To create enjoyable and meaningful events for both members and non-members.
