This past Sunday night, my wife and I attended a beautiful wedding at the Psagot Winery. The Psagot Winery, now located in Shaar Binyamin, is a relatively new feature of the booming industrial zone located in the Binyamin Region of Israel. It moved there in June of 2020. It was not our first event at the winery. Last summer, we attended a lively and entertaining out-door, “Motza”sh” concert by Binny Landau at the same place.
The Psagot Winery is literally two minutes up the road from Yishuv Adam (aka Geva Binyamin), making it very convenient for residents in our community to attend a wedding or event there.
The evening Chupah was as beautiful as can be, overlooking the Judean Hills, just north of Jerusalem. There is something so powerful and majestic about a wedding on the Judean Mountains – the outskirts of Jerusalem.
As part of the 7th blessing at a wedding, we bless and praise God with the following words, “Blessed are You Hashem, 0 Lord, King of the universe, who has created joy and gladness, bridegroom and bride, mirth and exultation, pleasure and delight, love, brotherhood, peace and fellowship. Soon may there be heard in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy and gladness…”
During 2,000 years of exile outside of Israel all we could do is say these words with hope that “soon” there would be a brighter future. The Jewish People have now returned to the Land God gave to Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaacov and their off-spring. Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria is now the heart-land of Israel. We now say these words, in the climactic 7th blessing of a wedding, with utter joy and happiness that God fulfilled His promise to bring the Jewish People back to our ancestral Home-Land.
The historic site and significance connected to the moment of a “Chuppah” or Jewish Wedding is beyond what words can capture. We well understand, when we weave together all factors why the dancing after soul-mates marry is so joyous and explosive.
The wedding hall at Psagot is elegant, giving a boutique feeling to each wedding celebrated there. Best of all, guests at the wedding are treated to top quality, award winning wine. Enjoying a delicious cup of red Psagot wines, like their Malbec or Pompeo, in celebration of a Jewish couple marrying is a special sensation. Making a toast or “L’chaim” over wine made from grapes harvested and procured minutes away, is a unique experience.

It should be noted, that since the Psagot Winery is a bit off the “beat and path,” though still very close for Jerusalem guests, its pricing is still very reasonable. My wife heard this first hand from the father of the bride who chose Psagot because it is affordable.
We left the wedding wondering why we can’t wine and dine at the Psagot Winery every night. But, since it is such a wonderful place to get married, we have no doubt that we will soon return for another beautiful Jewish wedding to enjoy the spectacular views, the elegant hall, the delicious wine and most of all the joy of soul-mates marrying on the Hills of Judea.
